We may also automatically collect technical data such as:

Website activity information
10. How We Use Your Information
Collected information may be used to:
Provide and maintain Website functionality
Improve the Website’s performance and reliability
Communicate with users and visitors
Respond to enquiries and provide customer support
Maintain system security
We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties.
11. Cookies
The Website may use cookies or similar technologies to enhance user experience and analyze usage.
Users may disable cookies through browser settings, though some Website features may not function properly.
12. Analytics and Website Measurement
We use third party analytics services to understand how visitors find and use the Website, so that we can improve its content, performance, and reliability. These services set cookies or similar identifiers and collect information automatically.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC, to measure Website traffic and visitor behaviour. Google Analytics may collect your IP address (which may be truncated or anonymized), device and browser type, referring website, pages viewed, time spent on pages, approximate geographic location derived from IP address, and the actions you take on the Website. This information is used in aggregate to understand how the Website is performing. You can review Google’s privacy policy here, and you can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
HubSpot
We use HubSpot as our customer relationship management, marketing, and website analytics platform. HubSpot places cookies on your device and may collect your IP address, device and browser information, pages viewed, forms submitted, links and emails clicked, and any contact details you provide to us. We use this information to understand which content is useful to visitors, to follow up on enquiries, and to manage our communications with customers and prospective customers. You can review HubSpot’s privacy policy here.
Where you provide contact details through a form on the Website, those details are stored in HubSpot and may be linked to your subsequent activity on the Website so that we can respond to you in an informed way.
13. Social Media Forms and Advertising
Facebook and Instagram lead forms
We run advertisements and lead generation forms on Facebook and Instagram, both operated by Meta Platforms, Inc. If you choose to complete one of these forms, the information you submit, which may include your name, email address, telephone number, business or vessel information, and location, is collected by Meta and transferred to us. We use it to respond to your enquiry, provide information about FishTrak, and follow up by email, SMS, or telephone. Information submitted through these forms is also stored in our CRM as described above.
Meta’s handling of information collected through its platforms is governed by its own privacy policy, which you can review here.
Meta (Facebook) Pixel
Our Website uses the Meta Pixel, a tracking technology provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. The Pixel allows us to measure the effectiveness of our advertising by recording actions you take on the Website, such as pages viewed, forms submitted, and enquiries started or completed.
The Pixel may collect your IP address, browser and device information, the pages you visit on our Website, and, where you are logged into a Meta account, information that allows Meta to associate that activity with your account. We use this information to:
Measure how our Facebook and Instagram advertising performs;
Build audiences of people who have visited the Website so that we can show them relevant advertising;
Show advertising to people whose interests or characteristics are similar to those of our existing visitors.
This may result in you seeing FishTrak advertising on Facebook, Instagram, and other Meta properties after visiting our Website.
You can control how this information is used through your Facebook ad preferences, through Meta’s off-Facebook activity settings, or by disabling cookies in your browser.
14. Telephone Numbers, Calls, and SMS Messaging
If you provide a telephone number to us, whether through a form on the Website, a Facebook or Instagram lead form, an email, or in conversation with our team, you agree that we may contact you at that number by telephone call and by SMS text message.
We use telephone calls and SMS messages to:
Respond to enquiries and requests for information;
Arrange demonstrations, installations, and service appointments;
Provide customer support, setup assistance, and account or order updates;
Send service notifications relating to your FishTrak device or subscription;
Send occasional invitations to events and promotional offers, where you have consented to receive them.
Marketing SMS message frequency varies but will not exceed 4 messages per month. Standard message and data rates may be applied by your mobile carrier. Calls may be made during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm Atlantic Time.
Your choices
You may opt out of marketing SMS messages at any time by replying STOP, QUIT, or UNSUBSCRIBE to any message we send. You may ask to be removed from our call list by telling any member of our team, or by emailing us at the address in the Contact Information section. Please allow up to 10 business days for opt-out requests to take effect; during this period you may still receive some messages.
Opting out of marketing does not stop service messages that are necessary to support a device or subscription you hold.
How your number is handled
We do not sell, rent, or transfer your telephone number to unrelated third parties. Your number is shared only with the service providers that deliver our messages and manage our customer records on our behalf, and only for that purpose.
15. Data Security
We take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access or misuse.
However, no internet transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
16. Third-Party Services
We may use third-party services such as hosting providers, analytics services, advertising platforms, customer relationship management platforms, and SMS providers to operate the Website and communicate with users. These providers may have access to limited information only as necessary to perform their services.
17. Your Privacy Rights
Under Canadian privacy laws such as the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, users may have the right to:
Request access to personal information
Request corrections to inaccurate data
Request deletion of their account information where applicable
Withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time
Requests may be made using the contact information below.
